The Wilder Kaiser is one of the most beautiful mountain regions in Austria and offers unique and breathtaking hiking routes for everyone. A network of over 700km of hiking trails could not be more diverse.
From the Hintersteiner See to the Walleralm
The Hintersteiner See with its turquoise-blue water is probably one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Tyrol for many. There is also a small lido on the shore of the lake – a bathing experience that you will certainly not forget. From the lake, a path leads up to the alpine huts of the Walleralm, where you can treat yourself to homemade cakes and other local specialties.

Up the Hohe Salve
The Hohe Salve is a perfect vantage point with views of the Wilder Kaiser and the Kitzbühel Alps. The hiking area is also accessible by cable car, so if you want to take a more leisurely approach to the hike, you can save yourself the first 500 meters in altitude. In addition to a restaurant at the summit, the Hohe Salve is also home to Austria’s highest pilgrimage church.

Through the Rehbachklamm gorge
This short hike is particularly suitable for families. The tour leads from Scheffau directly into the adventure-packed Rehbachschlucht gorge, where you can marvel at spectacular natural playgrounds such as small waterfalls and giant trees. Refreshments and a fantastic view are provided at the Hinterschießlingalm.
Of course, the Wilder Kaiser offers countless other hiking routes. For more information, please contact us at at any time. If you don’t want to explore the mountain world around the Wilder Kaiser on your own, we can also organize guided tours especially for you at .
We look forward to welcoming you this summer.
