When is the best time to go hiking? Spring, of course, when the temperatures are still pleasant, the trees and meadows are in full bloom and you’re bursting with motivation after the long cold season.
If you like exploring beautiful, untouched nature in hiking boots, you’ve come to the right place in the Kaiser Mountains. There are countless hiking routes for young and old, hobby hikers and real mountaineers.
Finding the right tour is often not so easy with so much choice, so we have a great suggestion for you.
If you enjoy long hikes and have no problem with steep climbs, the tour to the Kleiner Pölven is simply perfect for you.
From the Franzlhof farm in Söll, take a gravel road past the Oberkollerhof farm and the Pirchmoos chapel. Continue on a forest road until you reach the Reiteralm. From here, the route continues on the trail with many hairpin bends until you reach the first rope safety device, after which the terrain becomes flatter again. Over the ridge and through the forest, you soon reach the summit of the Kleiner Pölven and the Söller Kreuz. We can tell you: the view of the Kaiser Mountains and Lake Hintersteiner See is definitely worth it.
Difficulty: medium
Summit altitude: 1,562 m
Tour length: 8.5 km, approx. 5:00 h
Altitude difference: 880
